We are partnered with an organisation, in Maroochydore to recruit a Senior Wellbeing, Health and Safety Officer

Your new role

  • Lead and manage a range of WHS initiatives aligned to an established program of works
  • Ensure WHS systems reflect contemporary safety practices and meet operational needs
  • Research, write, edit and maintain WHS documentation in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Independently gather and synthesise information to produce manuals, specifications and process documents
  • Implement action plans and monitor progress across assigned safety programs
  • Support the rollout of a WHS Management System aligned with ISO 45001 standards
  • Drive change management processes and support all phases of implementation
  • Design and develop safety management system (SMS) documentation
  • Apply contemporary WHS theory and principles to foster a positive safety culture
  • Contribute to the development of WHS and employee wellbeing policies, procedures and strategies
  • Provide technical WHS advice to leaders and operational teams
  • Participate in safety workshops including risk assessments, hazard identification and design reviews
  • Promote and model safe work behaviours and contribute to a proactive safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with public records management policies during daily operations
  • Actively participate in creating a healthy and safe workplace through training and engagement
  • Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role

What you'll need to succeed

Mandatory
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing safety systems of work
  • Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate actions and deliver outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage and consult across all levels
  • High-level business writing skills including reports, presentations and policy documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Current "C" class Driver's Licence
  • Compliance with relevant QLD Government Public Health vaccination directives
Desirable
  • Experience in WHS Management System auditing
  • Knowledge of project and contractor management principles
  • Understanding of critical control management or process safety
  • Practical experience applying contemporary WHS theory
  • Ability to facilitate consultation events and change management programs
