Senior People and Culture Advisor, perm role based in Wollongong and Oran Park

Your new role

Reporting to the Manager of People and Culture:

Your duties will include:
  • Respond to HR queries professionally and escalate when needed.
  • Guide managers through the employee lifecycle (recruitment to exit).
  • Advise employees on employment matters to support engagement.
  • Experience managing ER and IR
  • Support and coach managers on grievances and performance issues. Promote self-service tools and coach managers/employees.
  • Process employment requests via HRIS in line with policies and legislation
  • Assist with WHS admin (incident management, risk assessments).
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data privacy compliance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and support HRIS updates/improvements
  • Identify process/training improvements using data insights.
  • Develop solutions to enhance service delivery and productivity.
  • Support HR projects, documentation, and training initiatives.
Contribute to policy development and HR tech enhancements.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience/training.
  • Solid HR experience with up-to-date knowledge of HR practices.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation (IR, EEO, WHS) and award interpretation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills across all staff levels.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, including report and correspondence writing.
  • Proven problem-solving skills using initiative, judgement, and discretion.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and experienced with HRIS platforms.
The successful candidate will work from our offices located in Wollongong 2 -3 days per week and the additional days from the Oran Park, Liverpool, Shellharbour or WFH. This is a full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday.
