2 x Rostering Officer, Auburn Location, $550 - $600p/d plus super, 5 month contract with an ASAP start

Your new company

Large NSW Government department based in Western Sydney are seeking 2 Rostering Officers to provide support to the business on a 5-month contract.

Your new role

In this role you will be creating and maintaining the master roster that compliments the planning schedule and involves the staff to deliver work on time and within budget following reform rostering principles. Your Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to: Working within the rostering guidelines driving continuous improvement whilst regularly reporting on achieved Key Performance Indicators against the organisation's policies and procedures. Ensuring that staff rosters optimise staff deployment according to workload whilst adhering to developed guidelines. Ensuring that the roster is efficient and cost effective, aligning workload requirements. Ensure that optimised master rosters comply with Industrial legislation, operating agreements and award provisions. Liaise with local areas on poor attendances, illnesses, compensation cases, late on duty etc. Assist with compilation of overtime returns and absence returns. Assist with identifying reasons where rosters do not reach the desired standard and reporting these matters to the local areas and advise recommendations.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have proven experience in a large complex organisation in a rostering position.
With:

  • Experience in the competent use of software, in particular Microsoft Excel and Microster or other rostering software packages.
  • Knowledge of rostering principles and their application to the running of engineering services and/or management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in Systems administration and support.
  • Sound working knowledge of: HR, IR, WHS legislation; Enterprise Agreements/Awards; and relevant policies and procedures that impact on rostering practices.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data/information, and sound interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • A pro-active approach with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.;
