A large Victorian public sector organisation is seeking an experienced workforce planning professional to lead the establishment and delivery of a centralised rostering function supporting a major statewide operational program. This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation at a critical time, leading workforce mobilisation activities that will support the successful delivery of large-scale operations across Victoria.

Your new role

  • Lead the planning, implementation and optimisation of a centralised rostering model across a large and geographically dispersed workforce
  • Manage and develop a team of Rostering Coordinators and Officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality workforce outcomes
  • Partner with operational leaders and stakeholders to forecast workforce demand and develop effective staffing solutions
  • Ensure rostering practices align with enterprise agreement obligations, workforce governance requirements and employee wellbeing considerations, including fatigue management
  • Work closely with Payroll and People teams to maintain accurate timekeeping processes and compliant pay outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the enhancement of rostering systems, workforce processes and operational procedures
  • Prepare workforce reporting, analysis and insights to support operational planning and decision-making

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience leading workforce planning, rostering, scheduling or large-scale staffing operations within a complex environment
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to lead teams through high-volume operational periods
  • Strong understanding of workforce compliance, enterprise agreements, payroll-related processes and workforce governance
  • Experience delivering operational projects with fixed deadlines and multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strong analytical capability, including advanced Excel and reporting skills
  • Experience using workforce management, rostering, scheduling or timekeeping systems
