People Services Officer role

Our Client

Our client is located east of the river and is looking for a People Services Officer to join the team. Initially, this position is to cover 7-weeks of leave. However, there is also a vacancy for the same role on a six-month fixed-term basis. There is a high chance that the role could become a permanent full-time position after six months.

Your New Role

The purpose of this role is to support the HR team and provide high quality customer service. This will include a full spectrum of operational and administrative human resource services and information including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, induction programs, training and administrative tasks under the direction of Manager People & Safety Services.

Duties & responsibilities:
  • Provide administration support to People Services.
  • Interpret and advise on low level agreement matters and maintain agreement information.
  • Updating and monitoring relevant policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with other People Services team members and other relevant officers to ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of human resources systems, databases and processes.
  • To undertake end to end recruitment tasks in a timely and professional manner and provide comprehensive recruitment services to the organisation.
  • Drafting and reviewing of position descriptions, employee correspondence and reclassifying of roles.
  • Complete reference checks and maintain compliance and employee database
  • Undertake and assist in the effective development and implementation of projects.
  • Assist in keeping an up-to-date record of Working with Children Checks, Driving Licence Checks and other relevant records.
  • Support and assist Coordinator Work Health & Safety when required.
  • Manage internal training plans and training records
What you need
  • Possession of, or progress towards, a relevant qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience in administration, customer service or Human Resources services.
  • Relevant experience in human resources deliverables such as recruitment, inductions and administration work.
  • Have well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Delivery of consistently high standards of customer service at all times.
  • Previous experience of using and maintaining a Human Resources Information System.
  • Accurate presentation of advice, instruction/guidance and research findings, both verbally and written, via all standard forms of business communication.
  • Knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
What they Offer

This role is paying between $42.43 - $45.10 p/h + casual loading.
