We are partnered with a Local Government Organisation in Townsville to recruit a People and Culture Officer.
Your new role
In this temporary assignment, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Promote workplace safety by leading WHS compliance.
- Ensure business continuity during disruptions.
- Provide high-quality customer service to stakeholders.
- Manage employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, changes, terminations).
- Drive process improvements in HR procedures and documentation.
- Coordinate events and budgets for the organisation's programs.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and position descriptions.
- Handle confidential matters with sensitivity.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Demonstrated experience in human resources administration and recruitment role.
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, face to face, by telephone and by written correspondence, with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- High level of computer literacy skills, including Microsoft products and HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Demonstrated experience and competency in exercising sound judgement, initiative, high level of confidentiality, accuracy, attention to detail and sensitivity in the performance of such work.
- Certificate IV in Business (or equivalent competency).
- Current Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence.
- Immediate availability is highly desirable as this role is looking for an ASAP start.
