Your new role
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide case management service for non-work-related injuries/illness, particularly concerning matters of unplanned absences and Fitness for Duty (FFD).
- Support Line Leaders with advice on absentee management, including participation in case conferences, gathering, and assessing medical evidence, assistance with document review and referrals to external medical practitioners.
- Drive and enable leaders to get outcomes on complex/long term absences as well as those being monitored with a balanced approach of driving KPIs whilst supporting people outcomes.
- Initiate (as required), co-ordinate and monitor workplace rehabilitation programs, including accurately recording information.
- Central liaison for the coordinated responses between the Operational Line Leader and Enabling Functions for fitness for duty matters.
- Create and review correspondence to and from health professionals, including drafting letters
- Establish collateral and supporting information for leaders to utilise to ensure best practice.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with sound administrative practices.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and advise on industrial instruments requirements considering fitness for duty processes (i.e. enterprise agreements, workplace legislation and policy)
- Strong knowledge of Return to work/ Rehab knowledge
- Previous experience of working with a broad range case management, rehabilitation, and people management.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, including effectively presenting information and writing and comprehending business and medical correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive matters.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
