The Opportunity 

(12-month Opportunity)

As the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Project Coordinator you will assists in the development, maintenance and implementation of HSE initiatives and programs consistent with TransGrid HSE plans and  Strategy. In addition, you will provide support and technical advice in Health, Safety and Environment and ensure the maintenance of relevant supporting systems and processes.

Job Overview

Reporting to the HSE Manager, as the HSE Projects Coordinator you will:

  • Provide support in planning and implementing HSE policies and programs.
  • Advise employees on various safety related topics.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of changes on HSE legislative requirements and provide advice accordingly.
  • Conduct risk assessments as required.
  • Think outside the box and actively identify and recommend opportunities to improve HSE processes.
  • Co-ordinate elements of the HSE Strategy and provide reporting accordingly
  • Follow up to ensure milestones and actions are completed on time and within budget
  • Lead the arrangement and event management of major HSE events
  • Manage the co-ordination, production and automation of accurate and timely HSE reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage drug and alcohol testing services in line with business requirements as required
  • Carry out onsite inspections and audit support as required


To be considered for the position, you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualifications at Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent relevant experience
  • NSW WorkCover “White Card”
  • Relevant industry experience in WHS
  • Excellent oral and written skills, superior communications skills with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas through clear and effective messages
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing effective stakeholder relationships, with demonstrated high level interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the requirements of WHS and/or environmental legislation, relevant Codes of Practice, Australian and international Standards and Guidelines.
  • Competent in WHS management systems and Environmental management systems
  • Conceptual and problem solving skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders
  • Well-developed and demonstrable presentation and report writing skills
  • Excellent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current driver’s licence
