HR Business Partner - NSW Government

ASAP Start | Contract to 30 June (possible extension)

$79.27 - $87.36 per hour + super

Sydney CBD or Parramatta | Hybrid (2 days WFH)

We are partnering with a large NSW Government organisation seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their team on an ASAP basis through to the end of June (potential for extension).

This is a true generalist HRBP role supporting a large and diverse portfolio. You will have a strong focus on case management, stakeholder partnering, and delivering practical HR advice across performance, misconduct and workforce issues. The environment is dynamic and undergoing rebuilding following recent organisational changes, so resilience and strong relationship-building skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical HR advice across a range of employee matters including performance, conduct and low-level investigations
• Manage and triage a high volume of casework, escalating complex matters to ER Specialists when required
• Partner with leaders to understand workforce needs and provide HR solutions aligned to business priorities
• Support HR initiatives and contribute to projects

About You

• Strong experience as an HR Business Partner in a large, complex environment
• Solid case management experience, including performance and misconduct
• Ability to build trust and credibility quickly with stakeholders
• Resilient, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of the GSE Act (NSW Public Sector) is highly desirable
• Collaborative and approachable, with strong relationship skills
