Our client is a well-established Food and Beverage organisation currently operating across three locations in Sydneys Inner West. The business objectives are all focused on the customer, and they feel the best way to achieve their goals is to have a happy, engaged and skilled workforce. That philosophy will remain as the organisation embarks on an exciting phase of growth, with existing site expansions confirmed and a new venue in the pipeline.

The organisaton has created a new HR Manager role to lead and its People function. The role will report to the Executive Director and will manage a team of two. This leadership role balances strategic direction with hands-on operational management, supporting around 100 frontline, modern award staff and a corporate group of around 40. The challenge will be threefold; maintaining and enhancing a functional operational HR department, ensuring that engagement and retention remain at industry high levels, and setting the organisation up for success in its next chapter.

To secure this role you will have

  • HR Generalist experience, ideally as part of a broad management team
  • Team management experience (desriable)
  • Experience in a customer-facing industry, ideally registered clubs, food and beverage, hospitality, or leisure industries
  • Experience of managing operational HR, ideally in a multisite organisation
  • A solid understanding of Modern Awards
  • Comfort with technology, particularly HRIS platforms
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related field (desirable)
  • A Proactive, collaborative, and passionate approach to staff wellbeing and service excellence
  • A down-to-earth style, treating all levels of staff with respect
  • A hands-on and resourceful approach when required with an ability to switch context when required
