Temporary job for exceptional HR Generalist starting ASAP for 3 months in Townsville | $50-55 / hour

Your new company
This Government Organisation requires a HR Generalist at the HR Consultant level to join its small regional HR team for an estimated three month long engagement. Working closely with two service groups in Townsville and corporate in Brisbane, you will report into the regional HR Manager. This vacancy is the result of a temporary backfill requirement and has the potential to go longer term based on future business needs.

Your new role
This Government department has two primary divisions which service the Northwest region spanning Townsville, Palm Island, Ingham and Mount Isa. Despite the wide geographical service area, very limited travel will be required for this position however, your movement between both local Townsville offices will be regular.

You will implement HR strategies and practices which support the unique business requirements of each unit. Applying your established skills as a credible HR Expert, you will deliver expert support and advice clearly to Managers and Employees on topics including performance management, people management, employee conduct and organisational capability development.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be at ease and experienced in roles where you are the primary point of contact for HR queries from staff and managers and you can provide specific HR advice with respect to training, recruitment, on/offboarding and HR records management. You are comfortable liaising with a diverse stakeholder group including blue collar tradespeople, remote and regional field-based staff and white collar executives. Your commitment to a Monday through Friday work week for an initial three month engagement is a requirement of this role.
